What advice would you give to your pre-baby self?
What advice would you give to your prenatal self?
"Don't worry about others, you will feel and know everything! You are the best for your baby!" - Olívia, new mom
When the long-awaited moment arrives and the little baby is conceived, everyone has a picture in their head of what awaits them. Many people rely on experiences they have heard, while others rely on books or YouTube videos to educate themselves before the big day. No matter how beautiful it may seem, this period is full of surprises, unexpected things and, let's face it... a lot of nervousness and excitement.
We recently asked you on Instagram what your answers would be to our question above. We brought you a few so you can see that everyone's story is different and we're all in the same boat.
"Don't read so much, don't take all the advice!" - you can't be prepared for everything anyway. Once the baby is born, believe me, you won't have time to hide books and once you're a little shaken up, you won't need the advice either! Listen to your intuition instead!
"Ask the cesarean instead!" - natural childbirth is not for everyone. If you have a choice, listen to your body and choose the solution that makes you feel safe. This is the most important thing.
"Sleep while you can! After that, you won't." - and you really won't! Even if it's not the baby that wakes you up, at first you'll definitely be anxious about whether everything is okay with the little one. And then your alarm clock will be the sound of crying. But don't worry, if your baby is an early riser, he'll keep you fit for years to come.
"The birth won't be the hardest part, it'll be over someday!" - this may sound strange to a mother-to-be about to give birth. Almost everyone fears what awaits them during childbirth the most, instead of thinking about the years that follow. The birth is over, but the packing, cleaning, and washing that follows never end.
As you can see, it won't be an easy journey, but maybe it doesn't have to be. If you just listen to what feels right, you'll be fine.
Believe me, you really are the best for the baby! The rest will be taken care of.
